Thank you to all the members who came to the meeting in February.  Considering the cold and icy conditions, we had an impressive turnout.  I think in part due to a desire to honor our late beloved Charles Peters who had long been an inspiration to club members, myself included and all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.  As I recall, two members were crazy enough to ride to the meeting.  I admire their dedication and determination to ride. 

I would like to apologies for the extended length of the meeting.   My rational was, members were enjoying socializing and since there would be no ride this month, why rush.  In addition, we had a number of topics to discuss which deserved a little additional time.  On Sundays when the weather is good and members are anxious to ride, I will do my best to keep it as brief as possible.  My goal is to keep the atmosphere light and fun.  After all, second to an excuse to ride, this is why we attend.

As I mentioned before, Rick Higgins is working hard to improve the web site to make it more user friendly, thanks Rick!  Changes to make the site better and more users friendly are being made every week.  We have come a long way but still have a long way to go.  That said, one of the most important aspects of a good club web site is membership contribution.  As the (um) “elected” President, I encourage all members to take the time to write an article, long or short, it does not matter.  Add a link to your favorite website, picture, ride or destination or simply add an event to the calendar.   There is a new feature at the bottom of most articles (when enabled by the author) to add your comments to the article, only visible to other club members, which could be interesting and entertaining, especially if our Postal member gets involved!  Give it a try; it’s so easy, even a cave man could do it!  If you have trouble signing on, navigating or contributing to the web site or have a recommendation for an enhancement to the web site, please let Rick or me know.  We will be happy to help.

Don’t forget next Tuesday dinner is at 6:00 PM at the Thai Diner in the Westmoreland shopping center on West Broad Street, Richmond. I look forward to seeing you there.
